Characteristics

Ylang ylang has soothing and uplifting properties and therefore makes it valuable in treating depression. The intensely sweet, tropical top notes with a woody, balsamic undertone assists in calming and aids in self-expression of repressed inner feelings. Ylang ylang is particularly popular with woman because it helps them find their inner femininity, sensuality and confidence. It is an erotic fragrance and can have the effect of bringing out fiery passion. Ylang ylang also treats anxiety, shock and fear by helping to reduce rapid breathing. When used in meditation, it helps to counteract anger by reducing high blood pressure and creating a sense of peace. 

Contraindications Ylang ylang may irritate sensitive skin and should be avoided on inflammatory skin conditions and dermititis. It may also cause headaches, due to the intensity of the scent. 
Blends well with  Bergamot , orange, patchouli and sandalwood.
